5 Ways to Not Just Survive, But Thrive in Today’s World

Are you feeling overly emotional, constantly drained, burnt out, or just straight-up overwhelmed? Have people told you you’re too sensitive?
If so, I have good news: You’re not broken. You’re tuned in.
The world desperately needs more sensitive, attuned people right now. But let’s be honest....being open in today’s chaotic energy can be exhausting. Staying grounded, clear, and present takes practice.
These are five things I do every day to stay centered and energized, so I can show up for myself, my clients, and the world.
1. 528 Hz – Biofield Clearing Tuning Fork
This sound frequency is my go-to for clearing my emotional state and office in between clients. It’s like stripping off a heavy, tight jacket I didn’t even realize I was wearing. The 528 Hz tuning fork is often referred to as the "miracle tone,". It helps me cut through stagnant energy like a knife through butter. After a quick sound sweep around my body, I can let go of lower vibrations. I also use the fork to clear the energy in the room after every client, so that each clients walks into a calm, refreshed space.
2. Grounding Stones
Selenite & Black Tourmaline. They are in the corners of rooms I inhabit. I recently started experimenting with holding black tourmaline while reading the news. Interestingly, I'm nowhere near as affected as when I don't have the stone around me.
Here’s why:

Black Tourmaline: The bodyguard of crystals. It transforms negative energy into positive energy, shields against anxiety, and grounds you through the Root Chakra. It helps me stay rooted and strong, especially in the presence of chaos or fear.
Selenite: The ultimate energy cleanser. It clears the body, mind, and environment of negativity. It opens the Crown Chakra, supports meditation, and brings deep calm. Bonus: it self-cleanses and purifies any crystal nearby.
Together, Black Tourmaline and Selenite work as a powerful team; one protects, while the other purifies. This dynamic duo is ideal for energetic balance and strength.
3. Salt & Salt Water
This is an ancient tool that is simple yet extremely powerful. Salt clears out heavy energy like nothing else. Try placing small bowls of salt water in the corners of a room or a sprinkle of salt along the threshold. But remember, it gets "used up," like your phone battery. Refresh the salt or water every two weeks for best results.
4. Movement
Some days, it can feel impossible. Those are the days I make myself move, even for just 15 minutes. For me Belly dancing is my medicine. I have noticed when I stop, I can tell, in my emotions, my clarity, and my energy. Movement clears stagnation, helps emotions flow, and brings joy back into the body. You don’t need to perform—just move. Your body will thank you.
5. Nature Is Medicine
The Japanese call it Shinrin-yoku, or “forest bathing.” When emotions/life feel too tense to handle, I surrender my emotions to the earth. She can handle it. Whether it’s a walk, touching a tree, or simply sitting on the grass, or pulling weeds, nature grounds me, holds me, and restores my sense of peace

Journaling
I carry a journal with me almost everywhere I go. It’s my tool for processing emotions, capturing insights, and bearing witness to the events unfolding around me.
When big emotions hit, I pause. I take a breath and write everything out. Slowing down to journal helps me untangle the moment and reconnect with myself.
Here are the prompts I use when I’m trying to make sense of something:
What is the thought I’m experiencing?
Is it true?
Will it still be true in 10 years?
How do I feel about this thought?
How do I feel when I think this thought or recall this event?
How did I respond?
How would I prefer to respond?
What’s the 5,000-foot perspective? Or third-person perspective?
What’s the possible outcome or takeaway?
This process can take a few minutes, but it gives me clarity and helps me reclaim my power when things feel overwhelming or unclear.
Meditation
One of the most life-changing practices I’ve adopted is the “May I Be...” meditation. It has become an anchor in my daily life. It's making me feel calmer, clearer, and more radiant from the inside out. This meditation is a gentle reminder to center yourself in compassion before offering that compassion to others.
Giving
For sensitive people, I cannot emphasize this enough; they have a tendency to take care of others first to their detriment. It will feel selfish at first, but I challenge my sensitive souls to restructure their priorities. Try for 3 months, putting your self-care first. The reason is that a leaky cup can’t give. A full one can overflow with love and presence. Those who push themselves to do more and give more often burn out and become resentful. I challenge them to give from a place of abundance. The energy is different, do you see? One depletes, the other nourishes both of you. Self-care doesn't need to be extravagant. All it means is answering this simple question daily.
What would loving myself look like today?
I encourage you to view your sensitivity not as a weakness, but as what it is a gift, a superpower. Normally, developed out of trauma or genetics, it is something that makes you beautifully unique in a noisy, chaotic world; staying open takes strength. These daily practices help me keep my channel clear, my energy protected, and my heart open.
You deserve to thrive, not just survive.
