If you feel like your body’s stuck on high alert, you’re not alone.
In today’s world, most of us are living in a constant fight, flight, or freeze state of being 24/7. The effect is changing everything about how we think, feel, and function.
2025 has been a whirlwind for many of us. Most of my clients tell me they’re running on fumes. They are exhausted, burned out, and overwhelmed. The truth is, the game has changed.
If we want to flourish in the years ahead, nervous system regulation isn’t optional—it’s essential
Why?
When our nervous system is overwhelmed/ hijacked by constant stress, our ability to think clearly, make informed decisions, and respond thoughtfully and rationally is significantly compromised. When we start running on adrenaline, decisions/ reactions made on emotion don't tend to be strategic and tend to fall under the "big emotions" umbrella.
The key to navigating life is learning how to rewire ourselves to stay calm; even in the middle of chaos.
One of the most powerful relaxation tools I’ve discovered is movement, specifically somatic movement. Just a few minutes of deep breathing, gentle shaking, and pumping my heels up and down can completely reset my nervous system. Interestingly, when I skip it for more than a couple of days, I can feel the difference in my body—tension builds, stress lingers, and my energy drops.
If you’re curious, search “Somatic Movement” on YouTube and explore a few videos until you find one that resonates with you and your nervous system. It doesn’t have to be long or complicated, just consistent. A little practice each day can truly change the way you relate to yourself and move through the world.
